I don't want to look back and force myself to see those parts of my life that still haunt me. Because nothing will ever change those moments imprinted in the years. Time hasn't eroded my own mistakes, it's been a weight left on you. And I've hoped to erase those pieces of myself. And I know all the damage I've done. A second chance you never got, a closure I couldn't give. Now everything left unsaid and what we gave up on, overwhelms a place in me where this bitterness used to reside. And I've hoped to erase those pieces of myself. I've tried to bury the things that have fallen apart, the things that I've missed. I've uncovered what happened to us, amends I can't make.
